So what is the difference between Paleo and Keto?๐Ÿค”โฃ

Paleo nutrition consists of a diet that stays as consistent as possible with our Paleolithic ancestors, & includes WHOLE FOODS such as: meat, eggs, fruits, veggies (starchy & non-starchy), nuts, & seeds!๐Ÿฅฉ๐Ÿฅš๐ŸŽ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿฅฌ ๐ŸŒฐ โฃโฃโฃ

Though a Keto Nutrition lifestyle includes many of the same foods as Paleo, it focuses on a lower carb, higher fat approach in which an individual utilizes more tailored macros (Proteins, Carbs, & Fat), in order to enter a metabolic, fat-as-fuel burning state, known as Ketosis. โฃโฃ

For this reason, starchy vegetables & high carb fruits are not on the Keto menu!๐Ÿ˜‰โฃโฃ
โ€‹

Though both lifestyles have been shown to reduce chronic conditions & extra lbsโ€ฆ Each person may differ, regarding which lifestyle would most benefit them, based on their current health & metabolic state.

โฃโฃSome of the foods that a healthy version of Paleo & Keto exclude are: grains, legumes, vegetable seed oils, white sugar, artificial sweeteners, & processed foods. โฃโฃ

โ€‹

From a Paleo perspective, these foods are not compliant because they may lead to high levels of inflammation or gastrointestinal distress in the body, & many are either unnatural or highly processed. โฃโฃ

From a Keto perspective, these foods are not compliant because they are high in carbs, (defeating the purpose of entering ketosis) & in the case of vegetable seed oils & artificial sweeteners… Because they are highly inflammatory.โฃโฃ
